I instructed SJR to take on re-designing my house. It is a traditional country house set within 1.5 acres, built early 20th century. Due to the size of the project, her first task was to analyse whether to knock the house down and re-build, something I didn’t particularly want to do but would consider. She proposed the options and advised me accordingly, the decision was taken to keep the original house and design the extensions in such a way that there would be minimal structural work done to it. Of the 1.5 acres the property sits in, a large proportion is greenbelt which is notoriously difficult to build in. Samantha came up with ways to adapt to this problem and also had to take this into account when designing the extensions. As I was looking for quite a considerable increase in size (2 large extensions), she built up case studies of the surrounding houses that had already had work done, did volume calculations and submitted everything to council and got everything passed. If you have a project (of any size) and want someone you can rely on, to understand what you want and do their utmost to deliver on what you want, then SJR in my opinion should be your only choice. Samantha could have advised me quicker and easier routes to go down (for instance PD) to make her job easier, instead she persisted to ensure I got the best possible design.
The pricing rates from SJR were very reasonable. I don’t want to state on this review where my house is however I would be happy for Samantha to give you details of my project so you can see what she managed to achieve should you enquire.

Sam has been amazing from start to finish. When I contacted her initially I knew exactly what I wanted – a garage conversion and side extension, she understood my vision straight away and was able to bring it to life.
